A tribal family in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh has alleged that around two-dozen persons of upper castes attacked them and demolished their hut and standing wheat crop by a tractor and also tried to electrocute them to death.

A tribal family in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh has alleged that around two-dozen persons of upper castes attacked them and demolished their hut and standing wheat crop by a tractor and also tried to electrocute them to death.

The incident was reported from Karili village under the jurisdiction of Sirsi police station in the district in the wee hours of Monday.

The police have registered a counter case in the matter, and according to the police the incident was the outcome of a long-standing land dispute between the tribal family and some upper caste people of the area.

As per information, the women of the tribal family have accused a former village Sarpanch Udaybhan Singh Yadav to be the main accused.

The women also told police that Udaybhan came with his two sons and about 20 more people in two tractors and they demolished the family’s hut and crop.

The women also alleged that the upper caste persons thrashed them and their menfolk including Hari Singh, Sonu, Gyani Singh and Raju.

One of the complainant woman also alleged that one of the perpetrators also urinated upon them.

According to ASP Man Singh Thakur, the police have registered cases on the complaints of both the sides.

The official said further investigations are on and the police are also verifying the allegations of urinating upon the women.

Reacting to the incident, former Congress minister and present BJP leader Mahendra Singh Sisodia said he apprised the SP about the incident.

Sisodia condemned the incident and said the attack by upper caste people on the poor tribal family is very disturbing. He demanded strict action against the accused.
